IN-SIGHT rents gently used tabletop video magnifiers for $20 per month. Rentals are only available in Rhode Island and do require you to come in for a brief demonstration and assessment to determine whether it is the right tool for you. Delivery and setup are available.
What is a video magnifier?
A video magnifier uses a camera and a screen to enlarge text and images, providing a magnified view for people with low vision. These devices offer greater magnification and customization than traditional magnifying glasses. For some people, they can be an essential tool for independent living, allowing users to read and view objects more easily.
Is it right for me?
Like most vision tools, whether or not this is the right device for you depends on a number of factors, such as the extent of your visual impairment, the level of magnification you need to be able to see an image, the types of things you are trying to view, and whether you have the space in your home for the device. These are the types of things we will evaluate during the assessment before renting a unit.
