IN-SIGHT’s summer orientation and mobility camp is a unique free experience for children who are blind and visually impaired.
Staffed by certified orientation and mobility specialists the camp focuses on helping the participants to step out of their comfort zones by participating in a wide array of activities that build skills and independence.
In 2020, we will host two camp sessions:
July 6 – 10: Advanced Skills Camp
This week is designed for older campers (generally age 13 – 18) who have had several years of orientation and mobility training and who have the skills and maturity to participate in more challenging activities. This week may also include an overnight trip to Boston.
July 13 – 17: Camp
This week is for any camper age 7 – 18 who is currently receiving orientation and mobility training. The program includes a variety of fun activities and adventures.
The camp day starts with drop off at IN-SIGHT between 8AM – 8:15AM. During the course of the day, we take on lots of fun adventures that generally bring us out in the community for the entire day. Lunch and snacks are provided. Pick up is at IN-SIGHT at 4PM. Extended hours are not available, and so all campers must be picked up no later than 4:15PM.
