IN-SIGHT clients recently gathered for a fun-filled recreational outing to beautiful Newport, Rhode Island, where participants enjoyed scenic views, good food, and great company.
The highlight of the day was a lighthouse cruise aboard the Coastal Queen. As the vessel made its way through Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay, participants took in breathtaking waterfront scenery and learned about several historic lighthouses that have guided mariners along Rhode Island’s coastline for generations. The relaxing cruise provided an opportunity to experience the beauty of the ocean, enjoy the fresh sea air, and connect with friends old and new.
Following the cruise, the group traveled to Johnny’s Restaurant at the Wyndham Newport Hotel for lunch. Members enjoyed a delicious meal while sharing stories, laughter, and conversation. The restaurant’s welcoming atmosphere made it the perfect setting to relax after the morning’s adventure on the water.
Recreational outings like this one are an important part of IN-SIGHT’s mission to promote social connection, community engagement, and opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired to explore new experiences. Participants appreciated the chance to spend the day together, discover one of Rhode Island’s most popular destinations, and create lasting memories.
A special thank you goes out to everyone who participated and helped make the outing such a success. We look forward to many more adventures in the months ahead!
