Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum Trip

October 22 @ 9:30 am - 5:30 pm
A view of the interior courtyard of the Gardner Museum

We start our day with an amazing lunch at Venezia Restaurant in Boston. Here you will choose from Baked Haddock, Chicken Parmigiana, or Pasta Primavera. You will also enjoy garden salad, dessert, coffee and tea.

Then we are off to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum for a self-guided tour. The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum first welcomed visitors to her museum on New Year’s Day, 1903. On that evening , guests listened to the music of Bach, Mozart, and Schumann, gazed in wonder at the courtyard full of flowers, and viewed one of the nation’s finest collections of art.

Today, visitors experience much of the same thing. The Gardner Museum has remained essentially unchanged since its founder’s death in 1924. Unchanged but certainly not stagnant. Three floors of galleries surround a garden courtyard blooming with life in all seasons. The Museum is filled with paintings, sculpture,
tapestries, furniture, & decorative arts from cultures spanning 30 centuries.
