Assistive Technology Workshops

Join our Assistive Technology team this summer and explore different applications and devices that will help you to access news and books, shop online, and learn about the Aira app (visual interpreter).

All of the workshops will be held at 11 AM on Zoom. Participants can participate via phone or video. The following week we will offer a follow-up session via Zoom to address the additional needs of the participants.  For more information or to register, click this link

Positive Outlook Support Group

A unique monthly group for people living with vision loss. You will find this to be the perfect group experience if you are seeking peer support, answers to your questions, and to just feel like you are not the only one facing the challenges that sometimes come with reduced vision.

This group meets every Thursday from 1PM – 2PM on Zoom. You can participate via video on your computer or smartphone. You can also call in and participate in the conversation by phone.

For more information on how to connect to this group, email us at or call Doreen at (401) 941-3322 x120.

Summer Book Club

Take some time this summer to catch up on your reading and share your thoughts with our Book Club. Our club members all agree to read the same book before their monthly meeting and then discuss elements of the book as well as what they liked, and perhaps what they did not. It is always a lively and fun discussion. All of the books are available in an audio format through the Talking Books program and IN-SIGHT staff can help you access them.

To learn more about the Book Club or to find out how to join the meeting, contact Carla Ferreira at (401) 941-3322, ext. 111 or email her at

The upcoming books the group will be discussing are:

  • June 19, 2020 – Calypso by David Sedaris
  • July 17, 2020 – Margaret Truman’s Deadly Medicine by Donald Bain and Margaret Truman
  • August 21, 2020 – Last Night in Twisted River by John Irving
  • September 18, 2020 – Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik
