IN-SIGHT has lots of programs in January and beyond to help you with those New Year’s resolutions!
Get your body and mind in shape with our free weekly Yoga classes held at IN-SIGHT every Wednesday from 10:30AM – 11:30AM. This is not a Yoga class that takes itself too seriously. There are a lot of laughs and the exercises are perfect for beginners as well as those with some previous experience. Everyone participates at their own pace and all of the directions are given in a clear and easy to understand way.
Gain a Positive Outlook
Living with low or no vision is not always easy, but the good news is that there are people out there who understand what you are going through. Our monthly Positive Outlook group brings together a diverse group of people who are blind or visually impaired for conversation, learning and peer support. This is a great place to meet new people, get answers to your questions, and gain a new outlook. The group meets on January 7 at IN-SIGHT from 10AM – 11:30AM.
Get ready for Valentine’s Day with a special craft workshop on January 28 from 10AM – 12:30PM. There will be lots of craft supplies and some sample projects that you can use as models to make your own home decor or gifts. If you are feeling creative you can also make your own designs!
Understand Memory Loss
Concerned about those “senior moments?” Forgetting names, appointments, where you left your keys, or just feeling less sharp than you were? While there is an increased risk of dementia that comes with vision loss, the good news is that there are lots of strategies to reduce your risk. Cognitive health is just as important as physical health, and there is a great deal we can do every day to dramatically reduce risk and stay sharp. The first session of this workshop series meets on January 20 from 1PM – 3PM at IN-SIGHT.
