We are pleased to welcome Dr. Micaela Gobeille to the staff of IN-SIGHT as an optometrist in our adult low vision clinic. Dr. Gobeille will be working to maximize the remaining vision of our clients through the use of magnification, lighting, glare reduction, and specialty eyewear.
Dr. Gobeille received her Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in May 2018. She has practiced in a variety of clinical settings, working with patients of all ages and abilities. She has honed her skills in low vision evaluations as the Lions Low Vision Rehabilitation Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, as resident at the Northport Veterans Administration Hospital, and as a student assisting with a mobile low vision service operated by Perkins.
Dr. Gobeille said, “low vision patient care provides a unique opportunity to examine the patient as a whole and allows me to have a tremendous impact on their quality of life.”
Dr. Gobeille will be working at IN-SIGHT two to three times per month as part of an interdisciplinary team that also includes a vision rehabilitation teacher and an assistive technology specialist.
