More than two dozen INSIGHT clients and a handful of sighted guests enjoyed an Italian feast followed by a unique tour through the streets of Boston on a replica World War II DUKW boat.
The afternoon started with a large family style lunch at Maggiano’s Italian restaurant. Fried calamari, bruschetta, chicken parmesan, ziti, meatballs, and tilapia came on heaping plates to be shared at each table. For those who left room there were also profiteroles with vanilla bean ice cream and hot fudge as well as apple crostada.
It was then off to the Prudential Center where everyone hopped on one of two duck boats where colorful narrators described the history of Boston as the boats wound their way through the streets of the city and its many historic landmarks before splashing down in the Charles River for a view of the city from the water. Two participants even had the chance to drive the boat while they were out on the water!
