Getting On the Move!
This summer we are taking a group of blind and visually impaired youth back On the Move!
Our annual two week program provides up to twenty kids and teens with a unique opportunity to participate in challenging activities that build their mobility and independent living skills.
We have a lot of great things planned this year including an overnight trip to Boston for our teen group. This unique experience will provide them with the opportunity to explore a large city’s public transit system, visit lots of great sites including the Museum of Fine Arts, and get a little taste of college life as we will be staying in a dorm at Boston University and utilizing their dining center for meals.
This summer we will also be kayaking, rock climbing, sailing, exploring Narragansett Bay, and much more! It is a busy couple of weeks that helps build self-confidence and independence while also creating lifelong friendships.
This very special program is made possible in part by grants from The Rhode Island Foundation, the Billy Andrade-Brad Faxon Charity for Children, the Bernhardt Foundation, and the Rhode Island Shriners.
We need your help too! Please consider donating today.
